Clémentine Deliss works across the borders of contemporary art and curatorial practice.

She studied art and anthropology in Vienna, Paris, and London, and received her Ph.D. from the School of African and Oriental Studies, University of London. She is the initiator and director of the Metabolic Museum-University which is both online at mm-u.online, and on site in Berlin and Brussels. Deliss is currently Curator at Large at KANAL-Centre Pompidou in Brussels, and Guest Professor KANAL-Centre Pompidou at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Since 2021, she has carried the honorary title of Global Humanities Professor of History of Art at the University of Cambridge, and has held Guest Professorships at numerous art academies in Germany including the Städelschule, Frankfut; HFBK, Hamburg; Kunsthochschule, Kassel. Between 2020-23 she was Associate Curator at KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, culminating her work there with the exhibition "Skin in the Game" (https://www.kw-berlin.de/en/skin-in-the-game/) and book of the same name. In 2018 she held an International Chair at the Laboratoire d’excellence des arts et médiations humaines, Université Paris 8 and Centre Georges Pompidou, and was Visiting Professor at the Ecole nationale supérieure d’arts Paris-Cergy. In 2018-19, she was Interim Professor of Curatorial Theory and Dramaturgical Practice at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. She has been a Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Study in Berlin, is a Guest Mentor of the Berlin Program for Artists, and Faculty at Large of SVA Curatorial Practice in New York. Her book “The Metabolic Museum” (2020) was published by Hatje Cantz in co-production with KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin and came out in Russian translation published by Garage Museum, Moscow, in 2021 and in Spanish with Caniche Editorial Madrid in 2022. Her latest book "Skin in the Game. Conversations on Risk and Contention" was published in December 2023 by Hatje Cantz and KW. Since 1996, she has produced the independent artists' and writers' organ "Metronome". The latest edition is Metronome No. 13 (Stavanger Secession), which came out in June 2024 in a limited edition.
